Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 6, 2026 ยท Version 1.0
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Kairon Browser ("Kairon," "we," "us") handles information in connection with the Kairon desktop browser, our websites, and related services. It does not describe how third-party websites you visit handle your data; those sites have their own policies.
2. Information we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to operate the product:
- Update checks: app version, operating system, and architecture, sent when checking for a new release. Update requests include your IP address so the server can respond; IP addresses are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Crash reports: only if you opt in, and stripped of URLs, page titles, and page content before transmission.
- Support requests: whatever you include when you contact support.
3. Information our website collects
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and similar technical information. This data is used solely for security, abuse prevention, and maintaining the website.
- We do not use advertising analytics, tracking pixels, or similar technologies on our website.
4. Information we do not collect
- Your browsing history
- Page content, search queries, or form input
- A persistent fingerprint used to identify or track you across sites
- Any data for the purpose of building an advertising profile
- We do not sell personal information to third parties
5. How we use information
Update-check and crash data are used solely to ship working releases and diagnose defects. Support data is used to respond to your requests. We do not use browsing-related data for advertising.
6. Third-party services
Kairon may rely on trusted third-party providers (such as hosting or CDN providers) to operate our services. Those providers may process limited information according to their own privacy policies.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information we hold. However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International data transfers
Information may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. GDPR legal basis (EEA/UK/Switzerland)
Where applicable, we may process personal information based on consent, legitimate interests, legal obligations, or contract performance.
10. Children's Privacy
Kairon Browser is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Data retention
Crash reports are retained for 90 days, then deleted. Some information may be retained for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or security obligations after deletion where required.
12. Your choices
Crash reporting is off by default and can be reviewed at any time in Settings โ Privacy.
13. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted to this page, and the effective date will be updated. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required by applicable law.
