Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 6, 2026 · Version 1.0
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Kairon Browser ("Kairon," "we," "us") handles information in connection with the Kairon desktop browser, our websites, and related services. It does not describe how third-party websites you visit handle your data; those sites have their own policies.
2. Information the app collects
The Kairon desktop app sends us no telemetry. Crash reporting and Chromium's telemetry, metrics, sync, and update systems are disabled at startup, and requests to known telemetry endpoints are blocked before they leave your machine. The app's only self-initiated network activity is:
- Ad-blocking filter lists: EasyList and EasyPrivacy lists are downloaded at startup (and when the blocker is rebuilt) to compile the built-in ad blocker.
- Secure DNS: when enabled, DNS lookups are routed over HTTPS to a resolver you choose (Cloudflare by default).
- Support requests: whatever you include when you contact support.
Errors are written to a local log file (kairon-errors.log) on your device and are never transmitted.
3. Information our website collects
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and similar technical information. This data is used solely for security, abuse prevention, and maintaining the website.
- We do not use advertising analytics, tracking pixels, or similar technologies on our website.
4. Information we do not collect
- Your browsing history
- Page content, search queries, or form input
- A persistent fingerprint used to identify or track you across sites
- Any data for the purpose of building an advertising profile
- We do not sell personal information to third parties
5. How we use information
We do not receive browsing, telemetry, or crash data from the app. Filter-list downloads are used solely to build the ad blocker. Support data is used to respond to your requests. We do not use browsing-related data for advertising.
6. Third-party services
Kairon may rely on trusted third-party providers (such as hosting or CDN providers) to operate our services. Those providers may process limited information according to their own privacy policies.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information we hold. However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International data transfers
Information may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. GDPR legal basis (EEA/UK/Switzerland)
Where applicable, we may process personal information based on consent, legitimate interests, legal obligations, or contract performance.
10. Children's Privacy
Kairon Browser is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Data retention
We hold no app telemetry or crash data, so there is nothing to retain. Support correspondence is retained as needed to respond to and resolve requests. Some information may be retained for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or security obligations where required.
12. Your choices
Telemetry and crash reporting are disabled in the app and cannot be enabled. Your history, bookmarks, Quick Access, and download history are stored locally; you can clear them from within Kairon, and uninstalling the app removes its data folder.
13. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted to this page, and the effective date will be updated. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required by applicable law.
